Official 2007 PickÂ’em Game Rules

For The Cup Series, Busch Series & Truck Series Pick’em Games

THE GAME IS :
You predict the 10 drivers you THINK will be the top 10 finishers in the upcoming race

Number your picks 1 thru 10 or you will not be eligible for Bonus Points

The DEADLINES for submitting your picks are :
BEFORE the start of the FIRST PRACTICE to be eligible for BONUS POINTS
If you submit after that, BUT BEFORE QUALIFYING STARTS, you will get RACE POINTS ONLY

IF YOU POST PICKS AFTER QUALIFYING STARTS YOUR PICKS WON’T BE RECORDED
YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE ANY POINTS AS YOU POSTED PAST THE FINAL DEADLINE

THE REASONS FOR THE DEADLINES ARE TWO FOLD
1) Everyone can post at any time during the week
By establishing the deadline as first practice each week, it means no one has any more information than anyone else
2) By spreading out the entries all week long it allows each to be recorded carefully
That way we can have the list done by the start of qualifying
Anyone who posts after 1st practice but before qualifying will be allowed to participate with NO BONUS POINTS AWARDED

HOW THE SCORING IS CALCULATED :
For each correct pick (1 of your 10 picks finishes in the top 10) you get 1 point (RACE POINTS)
BONUS POINTS :
For each correct pick that is the exact finishing position you listed for that driver, you get 1 bonus point
If you pick the winner of the race to finish 1st you get 2 bonus points for picking the winner
THE MAXIMUM POSSIBLE SCORE WOULD BE 21 POINTS
10 for each one in the top 10 (10 points)
+ 1 bonus point for each of the correct 2nd through 10th place finishers (10 + 9 = 19 points)
+ 2 points for the winning pick (19 + 2 + 21 points)

The winners will be posted each week after the race as soon as they get calculated
A list of the current week’s winner will be posted along with the current season winners
A list of the names and a count of the total wins of the all-time winners will also be included
The current points standings will also be posted after the weekly scores
Each Series Pick’em will crown a Champion at the end of the season

NO-ONE CAN EXACTLY DUPLICATE ANOTHER POSTER'S PICKS

IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO GET IT RIGHT AND ON TIME

IF YOU POST LESS THAN 10 PICKS, ONLY THE ONES SELECTED WILL BE COUNTED
IF YOU POST MORE THAN 10, ONLY THE FIRST 10 WILL BE COUNTED
IF YOU DUPLICATE A DRIVER IN YOUR PICKS HE WILL SCORED ONCE ONLY
IF A DRIVER YOU PICKED IS A DNQ YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PICK A SUBSTITUTE

Hey Stan, you might clarify your duplicate pick rule....such as which of the duplicates would be scored.

Let's say a person picks the same driver to finish 3rd & 5th.
That driver finishes 5th, I would score the pick for 5th (with the bonus) & DQ the 3rd place pick.
A driver can only have 1 top 10 finish per race so he can't be scored twice in the same race.
